Aunty L's Wide Key-Hole Scarf
by Nichole Medley © 2008
I made this for my great aunt, whose neck is always cold, and who had her arm in a sling when I started this. I wanted it to be easy for her to get the end through the hole and not have it shift around while she wears it.
You can also download this pattern in .pdf format from ravelry, or from Scribd.

Updates
I've had camera issues recently too, my camera doesn't take good close ups, we cant find my boyfriends camera (which I think has some kitting pics) and I can't get pictures off my camera phone at the moment.
So for now I leave you with

You can check out more of her art at her DeviantArt Gallery. She also has a blog you can check out here.
In other news:
I finished a black key-hole scarf, and I am currently writing up the pattern. When I get it all typed up and, hopefully, nice looking, I'll post here and on ravelry.
Hope every one had a Happy Thanksgiving.

Gryffindor Sweater
I still have some finishing touches I need to do, like weaving in loose ends, and sewing the neck down. But it is wearable as is and I have been doing so. ^ ^
The sleeves ended up a little weird but it looks okay, had to do a little gather at the top of the shoulder to make the sleeve top fit.
((I'll add a picture here later, camera and sweater are not with me atm.))

Slippers
I completed a pair of slippers a few hours ago. Very east to knit up. The only thing that took time was getting the first slipper the right size by trial and error.

I hope you are well and you get this soon in your travels.
Thank you for the credits you have forwarded, they have helped as Mattie is still sick with the Damp Lung.
I made you the enclosed to keep you warm in your travels.
Hope to hear from you soon,

Think I found a new project to add to my queue.

Project Updates: Hat + Cloth
Ribbed Striped Beanie:
I found a different beanie pattern, 1x1 ribbed beanie by Kis*Knit, that I liked the look of, so I tried it out. The hat seems to be a bit on the small side. I'm going to do another test adding about 8 stitches around or use larger needles.
Dishcloth:
Also was looking around for dishcloth patterns on Ravelry.com, and found a bunch of great patterns. The boyfriend wants knitted stuffs for our place when ever we get it. I used Rhonda White's Kate the Kat pattern.

Update with Pictures
Well, on my red hat I got both ear-flaps and the cords done a couple days ago. I'm still getting used to knitting the I-cord. I have a problem with pulling to tightly and pulling them off the needle.
Also, tonight I made my first pom-pom. I think it turned out pretty well. Now, I just need to make the second pom-pom for the red hat.
This is what I have so far on my black scarf, it went through two designs. I searched for a few hours on Ravelry.com for scarf pattern and decided to just come up with my own.
I am holding off on heavy knitting until my blister goes away, and I would like to restate how much I hate my digital camera. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it!
Non-Knitting News:
I went into the vision center at our local Wal*mart for an eye exam. I've been having trouble seeing signs, like road signs, or signs in stores, and I have been squinting to watch movies. The doctor confirmed my suspicions on needling glasses. Spent about $280 total today, on the eye exam and glasses. They are a low prescription but everything should be much clearer and sharper now.

Scarf / injury
A few minutes ago I noticed I had a blister on my right hand pinky, no idea how I got it until I picked up my double pointed needles.
Yay! First knitting injury.

Red Hat
Thursday, September 25, 2008
Eeee!
On another note, I'm changing the length a bit on my Gryffindor Scarf, so with the changes I'm about half way done. Also, I'm making it a bit thinner by sewing the sides together to solve the curling problem.

One Hat, Two Hats, Red Hat, Purple Hat!
Red Heart's Orchid (0530)
Aprox. 40% done.
Red Heart's Lipstick (0930)
Maybe 20% done?
This is the first hat I've done in a full circle. The pattern calls for switching to double pointed needles, which means I have to learn how to knit on them when my set arrives.
My Obi Wan in knitting is out of town for a bit so she can't show me up close. I will have to watch some online How-To's. This also means my goal for getting my sweater done is on hold until she's back in town.
I'm also really hating my digital camera. The colors never seem right, and it wont take a crisp up close picture. I normally have to do some color, brightness editing to the pictures.

First for me!
I'll post pictures probably tomorrow.

Size 7 Double Pointed Needled
Michael's seems to have size 3 and 6 of the nickle plated and size 8 and 10.5 of the bamboo. Our local Wal*mart seems to not carry any at all. And the closest sewing and knitting store to us, moved and is remolding, which they didn't say anything about on their website.
So was looking up size 7 on google's shop area and found what I think is a steal. On ebay I found "premium 15 8" bamboo DP knitting needles pins US 0-15". 75 needles for $23.
So I splurged and bought them, now I just need to make them a case.

September Goals
Thursday, September 11, 2008
Works in Progress: Misc.
I'm about 15% done. :\
Hats:
I have about seven hats planned, but only one on the needles. Well it's off the needles, but I need to sew up the back seam. I finished it about 5 minutes ago. It turned out really well for the first hat I've ever done. I used Bev's Basic Cozy Cap pattern, the minor changes I made where no pom pom and I'm using a dark red heart yarn.

Works in Progress: Gryffindor
I started this project around March 2006 and been working on it bit by bit, putting it on the shelf for about a year. I have all the pieces done, I just need to sew the pieces together and knit the collar.
When I get it done I'll put up the modifications I've done.
Gryffindor Scarf: Red Heart's Claret and Caron's Perfect Match Sunflower (also used on the sweater). Not to happy with how it's turning out. The sides are curling inwards, not sure how to fix it.

Finished Projects
Scarf:
I surprised my boyfriend by wrapping this around his neck when I went to visit him in school in Michigan during January two years ago.
I used Paton's Bohemian Hypnotic Haze (aprox. 2 skeins)
I can't remember what size needles I used, but the yarn label suggests 11US.
Cast on 18. Aprox. 8 to 9 in. (very stretchy)
K1, P1.
I went to the end of the second skein, and it came out to be 64-65 in.
Bind off.
Some kinda baby yarn, blue and purple. I think I used 2 or 3 skeins of each.
I think the stripes where about 6 inches and the total length was 36 inches. It's been so long I can't really remember.
